Anyone Out There?

I'm curious to know if there are any Nicodemus family members who are currently engaged in research on the family line. I have a hard copy of the work copyrighted by Ivan Nicodemus in 1995, which is quite extensive. Every once in awhile, Ivan notes that someone was currently engaged in research.

For example: Ivan notes that Douglas Ross Nicodemus (b. 5 Dec 1954) was studying the origin of the Nicodemus surname and "at this time is awaiting response from letters written to Greece for more information." Is Douglas still living? If so, has he received any response?

How about any others out there working on compiling info? Are you still out there and still working at it?

Does anyone have a computer database of the Nicodemus family info?

Does anyone own any copyrights of any Nicodemus family info?

It would be nice to know more about what is being done in this area. I haven't found much when I do online searches. I was hoping that this website would provide a gathering place for such individuals, but I haven't gotten a lot of action on this site.

My name is Jack Williams, but my Grandfather was Charles P Nicodemus and my Great Grandfather was Joseph Nicodemus both of Fulton Indiana. My brother and I just started looking into our family history and to tell you the truth I'm over whelmed with the amount of information on Nicodemus. My brother Dick and I would very much like to be members.

    1. Welcome, Jack! Glad you found the site. You may have noticed that yours is the first comment, yet the original article was posted in 2010. There's a lot of Nicodemuses out there, but not everyone is interested in family history. Thankfully there are a few.

  2. Hello Lisa and Jack
I've been interested in the Nicodemus family for a longtime and have copies of both of Ivan Nicodemus books. My grandmother was Vida Nicodemus, daughter of Isaac Calvin. Using Ivan's book I have our line back through Johann Frederick, born in Germany and immigrated to the colonies in 1751.Ivan's books are extremely well documented and full of information back to around 1600 in Germany. I would be happy to do look ups in these books.
